Three Congress workers wounded in Kashmir grenade attack

Srinagar : Separatist guerrillas Sunday afternoon lobbed a grenade at a youth Congress rally in south Kashmir's Anantnag district, injuring three activists including two women.

Police said guerrillas tossed the hand grenade at the rally while it was dispersing after an address by a local youth leader at village Nanil, 60 km from here.

"The condition of two women is serious," a senior police official here said.

One vehicle was also damaged in the blast.

Police and security forces immediately surrounded the blast site.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

Local district authorities had made adequate security arrangements around the rally venue.
