Patna : Even as kidnapped boy Ankit's fate remains unknown despite an arrest in the case, another boy was abducted from a village in Siwan district, police officials said Thursday.
Seven-year-old Gopichand was allegedly abducted at gunpoint from Rasoolpur-Chakri village in Siwan district, 150 km from here, late Wednesday.
"A group of armed criminals forcibly entered businessman Premchand Mishra's house and abducted his son," police said.
According to officials, there were over 2,000 cases of kidnapping in 2006 alone. Earlier this year, the Patna High Court had directed the state government to trace the 144 children and 581 women who had gone missing since 2001.
