Dhaka : The first India-Bangladesh one-day international here Thursday was reduced to 47 overs each inning due to rains in the morning.

The match had been initially reduced to 49 overs per side for the same reason. However, before the action could start at the packed Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, it poured again — reducing the innings further and resulting in two overs each from both innings being cut.

Captain Habibul Bashar won the toss and opted to bat.

India brought in Dinesh Mongia as a bowling all-rounder and left out opener Robin Uthappa.

Bangladesh had to leave out their strike bowler Mashrafe Mortaza who suffered a back spasm. He was replaced by Shahadat Hossain.
