Kabul : A coalition air strike killed 10 Taliban insurgents in Helmand province of southern Afghanistan, a local official said Friday.
Taliban fighters ambushed a patrol of the US-led coalition and Afghan forces in Sangin district late Thursday, district chief Azatullah Khan said.
The forces fought back and called in coalition air support, which killed 10 militants, he added.
Helmand has been a hotbed of Taliban rebels, who attack Afghan and foreign troops frequently.
