Disney gets new India chief

Mumbai : Walt Disney Television India has got a new chief in Antoine Villeneuve who has been named senior vice president and managing director.

Villeneuve will now oversee Disney Channel, Toon Disney/Jetix and the newly acquired Hungama kids' television channels in India, according to an announcement Thursday by Rich Ross, president of Disney Channel Worldwide.

Villeneuve will relocate to Mumbai and assume his new role June 1.

Ross said: "Antoine brings a wealth of media experience and knowledge of the company to his new position and will increase our strong television channel business in India, helping to marshal the many opportunities our channels and content offer to other businesses in The Walt Disney Company."
