Gloom in party offices – sans BSP

By IANS

Lucknow : As jubilation gripped Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) offices across Uttar Pradesh Friday, a pall of gloom descended on offices of the Samajwadi Party and Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).

The Samajwadi Party office and the two residences of outgoing Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav were deserted, with even the presence of policemen considerably reduced.

The Samajwadi Party state headquarters on Vikramaditya Marg used to always buzz with activity. Today, it was deserted.

Far from the swanky vehicles that often surrounded the place, even bicycles were missing. Not a single party leader could be seen around the party office.

Thanks to massive acquisition of both public and private property by him and his brother along the upmarket Vikramaditya Marg, the road had come to be better known as "Mulayam Singh Road".

The scenes in and around the BJP office were no different.
