Mumbai : A Mumbai court Friday issued a non-bailable warrant against Hasina Parkar, sister of fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, as she continued to evade police for more than a fortnight.

The magistrate's court order against Hasina and four others followed a city court's directive last week asking police to arrest Hasina by May 16.

The Anti-Extortion Cell of police had registered a case of cheating and criminal intimidation against her last month on the basis of a complaint by a city-based builder for allegedly demanding ransom from him.

Police have raided her residence several times, but she has been on the run since the case was registered.

"Different teams of police are looking for her at various places," a senior Crime Branch-CID official said Thursday.

"In case she is not arrested in the next few days or she does not surrender, police will identify her properties and then commence attachment proceedings by moving a competent court," police sources said.

With a warrant against her, Hasina becomes the fourth member of the Dawood clan who is wanted by police. While Dawood is wanted in several cases including the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, his two brothers Anees and Noora are also on the wanted list. Iqbal Kaskar, another brother, is in a jail here.
