Cop commits suicide in Gurgaon

Gurgaon : In yet another case of work related stress a police official committed suicide after firing at one of his colleagues here Saturday.

The incident occurred in the afternoon when head constable Karanjeet fired at his colleague Sanjeev after a minor altercation, police said. Karanjeet then shot himself and died on the spot.

Sanjeev was later moved to the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi from a local hospital. His condition is said to be critical.

"The duo had just come back from Uttar Pradesh after serving poll duty in that state. They were physically stressed due to the hectic election duty," a senior police official said.

The police were probing the exact cause that led the constable fire at his colleague.
