Sharjah : At least 60 physically challenged couples are set to to tie the knot during a mass marriage function here later this month.
The event, named 'Wedding of Hope' is scheduled to take place on May 28, WAM news agency reported Saturday.
Organized by Dubai Sports Club in association with the Organization of Arab Family and Al Asalah event management firm, 'Wedding of Hope' will be the second group wedding where 120 men and women, most of them born handicapped, are expected to tie the knot.
All the 60 bridegrooms are members of various sports clubs or associations for the welfare of people with special needs.
Prime Minister and Vice President of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has awarded the bridegrooms 70,000 dirhams (over $19,000) each to help them to enter a marital life without financial debts.
