Hyderabad : At least 21 of a marriage party were killed and 25 injured when the van in which they were travelling collided head on with a truck in Andhra Pradesh's Adilabad district Monday.
The accident occurred near Rolmamida village in Adilabad, about 275 km from here, on the Hyderabad-Nagpur national highway.
The dead included women and children. The injured were admitted to a hospital in Nirmal town and the condition of five is critical.
Traffic on the highway was disrupted for more than two hours.
According to Andhra Pradesh Road Safety Authority (APRSA), on an average 36 people die in road accidents in the state every day. More than 12,000 people were killed last year.
