Three killed in fresh clashes in Gaza

GAZA, May 17 (Xinhua) — At least three Palestinians were killed on Thursday noon in Gaza Strip in two incidents while Hamas blamed pro-Fatah security members on the casualties who fell despite ceasefire.

A funeral for members of Hamas’ police force, killed yesterday in an Israeli air strike on their camp, came under fire from the headquarters of the Preventive Security Forces in southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah, said Islam Shahwan, a spokesman for Hamas’ Executive Forces.

Shahwan added that two of the people who were participating in the funeral were killed and several others were hurt. “The situation is very bad now in Rafah.”

Meanwhile, a member of Hamas military wing was killed in Gaza city. Shahwan accused the Fatah-run Preventive Security Forces of kidnapping the Hamas fighter and “executing him in cold blood inside the Preventive Security headquarters.”

Up to now, five Palestinians were killed since last night when Hamas and Fatah decided unilaterally to stop fighting.

One man died due to wounds he sustained earlier and a second one was brought to hospital two days after he went missing, medical sources confirmed.
