New Delhi : India won a medal in the Asian Judo Championship after a gap of four years as Tombi Devi won the bronze medal in the women's below 48kg category in Kuwait.
According to news received here Saturday, Tombi was Friday also adjudged the best Women Judoka of the tournament.
In the general congress of the Judo Union of Asia (JUA) held in Kuwait Monday, Jagdish Tytler, president of the Judo Federation of India (JFI), was elected chairman of the legal and status committee of the Asian body.
Mukesh Kumar, general secretary of JFI, was re-elected general treasurer of the JUA for the next four years.
Kuwait's Obaid Al-Anzi was elected president of the Asian body.
