Roy, who will turn 75 June 1, completed the Delaware Marathon at Wilmington in five hours and 42 minutes, according to information received here.

Roy competed in harsh conditions as the weather was extremely cold and cloudy with temperature at ten degree celsius and strong winds blowing at a speed of 10-20 miles an hour. Around 500 runners participated and the Indian was the second oldest man to take part.

It was Roy's third race in a span of eight weeks and the spectators and officials praised him for the endeavour. He has been running for the last two years with osteoarthritis in his right knee, a feat that has also astonished many orthopaedic surgeons in India and in the US.
