The state government suspended had him May 18 for allegedly helping a gang of criminals from Bihar involved in several bank robberies in Orissa.

The 52-year-old director of the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy was suspended after Director General of Police Amarananda Patnaik submitted an investigation report following allegations.

Marik, who refuted the allegations, moved the high court at Cuttack, 26 km from here, to avoid arrest, court officials said.

A top state police official, however, told IANS that no case had been filed against Marik yet and chances of his arrest in near future appeared remote.
