Chittagong : Play finally resumed at 2 p.m. after rains and a soggy outfield delayed the fifth and final day's action of the first India-Bangladesh Test here Tuesday.
India started their second innings at 44 for two wickets, with Sachin Tendulkar and Dinesh Karthik on the crease. India have taken an overall lead of 193 by close of play Monday.
Umpires Daryl Harper and Billy Doctrove inspected the ground twice Tuesday before deciding that play would be possible.
The second and final Test will begin Friday in Dhaka. India had won the rain-marred one-day International series 2-0 earlier.
