Ranchi : A local court in Jamshedpur Wednesday issued an arrest warrant against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray for his allegedly provocative speech against the Bihari community in Mumbai two months ago.
The arrest warrant was issued by judicial magistrate D.C. Awasthi after Thackeray failed to appear before the district court Wednesday. The MNS chief in March this year had used provocative speech against non-Maharashtrians, particularly against Biharis.
A lawyer of Jamshedpur had filed a case against Thackeray in the court abd the court issued a notice to Thackeray. Since no one appeared on his behalf the court later issued a directive to him to appear personally.
