Assistant sub-inspector Sukhdev Singh and head constable Mahender Singh, posted at the Hari Nagar police station in west Delhi, were arrested Wednesday night red-handed following a complaint from the housewife who resides in the same area, the agency said in a press release Thursday.

According to the CBI, the duo summoned the woman to the police station after her business associate filed a complaint against her in connection with a business dispute. They asked her to pay Rs.30,000 to settle the case.

"After verifying the (housewife's) complaint, a trap was laid and the accused were arrested while accepting the money," the statement added.
