Sabu Panjikaran Thomas, 26, a resident of A'Ali, was found by colleagues who had tried contacting him on his mobile phone.

Thomas had been working for a local firm as a labourer since he came to Bahrain two years ago.

"He had just returned the day before from a two-month vacation to Kerala, where he attended his sister's wedding," said one worker.

"He was as normal as ever on the day and even discussed with his supervisor his assignment for the next day. One of his roommates returned during his 15-minute tea break and had tea with Sabu," the worker said.

Roommates said no suicide note was found in the room and they did not have a clue as to what may have made Thomas take his own life.

The company for which Thomas worked is reportedly making arrangements to repatriate his body to India, Gulf Daily News reported.
