Mumbai : After a long break, TV star Iqbal Khan is ready to grace the small screen as an air force officer in a new soap to be aired on STAR One from July.

He has inked a pricey deal with Miditech Pvt Ltd, which earlier made "Sara Akaash" based on the hi-jinks in the air force, for the daily soap.

"Yes, I'm finally coming out of my four-month honeymoon. My wife Sneha was getting a little tired of having me around the house. But she did make sure that I didn't get lazy at home. She's as particular about my meals as she's about my workouts," Iqbal told IANS.

Before starting his new serial, Iqbal, who was earlier seen in Balaji Telefilms' "Karam Apna Apna" and "Kaisa Ye Pyar Hai", wants to visit ex-boss Ekta Kapoor.

"I want to seek her good wishes before starting out on my first non-Balaji serial. I'm sure she'll be happy to see me."

Apparently, Iqbal has been paid a sizeable fortune to say yes to the Miditech serial.

"It's a very good pay packet. Though others offered me a lot more money, I chose to work with these people because I liked the concept. We've just shot a teaser trailer."
