New Delhi : A man has been arrested here for allegedly killing seven people in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, police said Saturday, adding that the accused used to charge between Rs.100,000 and Rs.2 million for each killing.
Sleuths of Delhi Police's special cell arrested Pranav Chauhan near Hazarat Nizamuddin railway station in south Delhi late Friday night. Police also recovered one pistol and three live cartridges from his possession.
Chauhan, 23, had allegedly killed the seven people in the past two years. He is also facing charges of attempt to murder, extortion and possession of arms in the two states, police said.
"Chauhan was arrested on a tip-off and during interrogations, he revealed that he used to charge from Rs.100,000 to Rs.2 million for each contract killing," Deputy Commissioner of Police Alok Kumar said.
