Slain Pakistani court official’s family granted compensation

Islamabad : The family of a slain court official, who was tipped to be a key witness in the suspended chief justice's case before the Pakistani Supreme Court, has been granted Rs.10 million in compensation.

Acting Chief Justice Rana Bhagwandas ordered the compensation for the family of Supreme Court additional registrar Hammad Raza, Daily Times said Saturday.

Raza was killed earlier this month at his residence here.

The court also ordered free education and medical facilities for Raza's children till they are 18 years old. The family would also be provided free accommodation for five years and complete pension till the children attain the age of 18, Pakistan online reported.
