New Delhi : Ashok Kumar has become the highest prize money earner on the domestic professional circuit after netting Rs.4 million in just nine tournaments in the 2006-07 Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) calendar.
Kumar has been in fine touch throughout the season, winning four of the seven tournaments.
"I am happy with my performance this season and am working hard to maintain this form," a PGTI statement Friday quoted Kumar as saying.
Kumar won the Indian Oil XtraPremium Masters, Solaris Global Green Open Golf, SRF All-India Professional Golf Matchplay Championship and the Crompton Greaves Open this year.
"I am just taking a few weeks off but hope to return stronger," Kumar said. "I have always said that I tee it up at every tournament with the desire to win.Whether the tournament is big or small, I definitely play to win and that has always been my goal," added the Delhi professional.
Jyoti Randhawa, who also has an excellent record to boast, played just three tournaments and won all taking his earnings to Rs.3 million, the statement said.
