Shimla : Music, songs and a beauty pageant will be the highlights of this year's five-day Shimla summer festival set to begin June 2.
"Singer Alka Yagnik will perform on the opening night on June 2 along with a local orchestra group," said Shimla District Magistrate Tarun Kapoor.
"The next evening will have a host of well known singers, comedians and dancers from Himachal Pradesh to entertain people," Kapoor said Saturday.
"Day three will be devoted to glamour and have a fashion show and Miss Shimla beauty contest. On the following day, ghazal duo of Ahmad Husain and Mohd Hussain will perform and so will comedian Deepak Raja and Punjabi singer Sardool Sikander," he added.
A performance by playback singer Shreya Ghoshal will be the highlight of the concluding night of the festival on June 6.
The Shimla summer festival is an annual event, which is organised every summer during the peak tourist season at the heart of the city.
