Islamabad : Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf Tuesday stressed the urgent need to resolve conflicts with India, particularly the Kashmir issue.
Musharraf told Indian Member of Parliament Nirmala Deshpande there was an urgent need to make progress in conflict resolution in order to consolidate the peace process with India.
Rajya Sabha member Deshpande called on Musharraf in Islamabad and was praised by the Pakistani president for her efforts to promote peace between India and Pakistan, an official statement said.
Musharraf also briefed her on the progress being made in the Composite Dialogue with India, including over confidence building measures (CBMs).
The MP, who heads the Indian chapter of the Pakistan-India friendship group in the Indian parliament, apprised Musharraf of her efforts to promote peace between the two South Asian neighbours.
