The annual "Compass Used and Discounted PC Show 2007" organised by the Computer Association of Eastern India (COMPASS) gets underway on June 1 at the Bhawanipore Education Society College here.

The show is expected to attract those who want to buy used computers and laptops at surprisingly low costs, besides those who seek various computer parts, peripherals, books, CDs, accessories, that are not readily available in the market or have become obsolete.

Exhibition committee chairman Pawan Jajodia said here Wednesday: "The aim of holding the fair is based on the twin objectives of helping Channel Partners to clear out their old stock due to obsolescence and phase-offs and also to help people own PCs at low unbeatable prices."

COMPASS president K.L. Lalani said: "Through this fair we hope to reach PCs and laptops to each and every home. If they are available at very low prices, surely the people would not want to waste any opportunity."

"Also parents reluctant to buy computers because of the high prices will be able to purchase computers/laptops at affordable prices to help their children's education."

During the fair, computers will be available from Rs.4,900 onwards while laptops and printers can be bought at a minimum price of Rs.20,000 and Rs.1,000 respectively. Scanners, printers, and refurbished computers will also be available.
