Patna : Tension gripped a Bihar village after two ruling Janata Dal-United (JD-U) activists were killed by Maoist guerrillas for allegedly working as police informers.

Maoist rebels killed the two JD-U activists of Satgharwa village in Munger district, about 150 km from this state capital, Wednesday.

"Over 100 armed Maoist guerrillas including women in army uniform raided the village and forced four villagers at gun point to go with them," said a senior police official.

Later, beheaded bodies of Ramchandra Yadav and Anil Yadav were found in a field near the village. Two others were released after being warned and thrashed by the rebels.

A letter found near the bodies stated that the Maoists killed the JD-U activists to punish them for working as police informers, police sources said.

Angry villagers have demanded action against Maoists and security cover for the village.
