Mohali (Punjab) : A cameraman of a local television channel was manhandled at the entry gate of the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium Friday by private security guards.
The cameraman had gone to the stadium to enquire about his pass for covering India and Pakistan second one-day international (ODI) Nov 8 here.
Security in and around the stadium has already been beefed up with Punjab police and private security guards are being deployed all around the ground and the stadium complex.
Later, the PCA officials apologised for the incident and promised to take action against the erring guards. They also offered to get the damaged camera repaired.
All general stand tickets of the stadium were sold Thursday within hours of the windows being opened. “Only a few tickets of the Rs.10,000 and Rs.5,000 denomination remain to be sold,” said G.S. Walia, PCA treasurer.
