Shimla : Bhaujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) chief Mayawati will address at least eight election rallies in Himachal Pradesh beginning Sunday, a party spokesman said here Friday.
Polling is taking place in three tribal assembly seats of the state on Nov 14 due to the threat of early snowfall in Kinnaur, Lahaul and Spiti and Bharmaur.
The second phase of polling for the remaining 65 assembly seats will be held on Dec 19. The results will be declared on Dec 28.
The BSP is planning to make its presence felt in the hill state in a big way this time by contesting a large number of seats. The party is hoping to dent the traditional vote banks of the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) – the two major parties in the state.
