Geneva : The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has said that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Kuwait rank respectively at numbers 39 of their scale for the UNCTAD Trade and Development report covering 2006.
This result, according to the UNCTAD rankings, puts the UAE and Kuwait ahead of all the Arab countries.
According to the report released Tuesday, the Middle East and North Africa countries have performed better than other regions in human capital, and have also performed better and scored highest in financial intermediation.
The report says that the United States, followed by Germany, Denmark, Britain and Singapore are the five leading countries.
The leading country, the US, says the report, has the world’s best combination of economic, social, regulatory and government attributes for engaging in and benefiting from global trade and for using the benefits to raise living standards.
