Holiday threats against shopping malls have become “almost an annual ritual”, ABC News quoted an FBI official as saying.

Malls in Los Angeles and Chicago are potential targets, he said.

However, there is no information to prove this is a credible threat, according to FBI spokesman Richard Kolko.

The information is being shared “for situational awareness”, he said, and the FBI is reminding people to “remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to authorities”.
