No one from coalition partner Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) was sworn in as the party had decided Sunday decided to join the ministry only after Yeddyurappa proved his majority on the floor of the assembly, expected on Nov 15.

Along with Yeddyurappa, BJP’s Govind Karjol, V.S. Acharya, Jagadish Shettar and R. Ashok also took oath of office in the brief ceremony that began exactly at noon on the steps of the state Vidhana Soudha (secretariat).

The BJP/JD-S combine claims the support of 129 legislators in the 225-member assembly.
