Gaza : Three Palestinian militant groups claimed responsibility on Sunday for launching altogether six makeshift rockets from northern Gaza at southern Israeli communities.
The Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) said in a leaflet that its militants launched 2 rockets at the town of Sderout in southern Israel.
Saraya al-Quds, Islamic Jihad (Holy War) armed wing said in another leaflet that its militants fired one rocket from northern Gaza at the southern Israeli costal town of Ashkelon.
Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, President Mahmoud Abbas Fatah movement ‘s armed wing said in a third separate leaflet that its militants fired three rockets at Erez and Nativ Ha’asarah north of the Gaza Strip.
The three leaflets said the rockets attacks “are to stress that resistance against the occupation would never stop,” and that “the attacks are the natural response to the daily crimes of Israel.”
Israeli army officials was quoted by Israeli Radio as saying that the rockets hit southern Israel, but caused no damages or injuries. The Radio also said the artillery stationed on northern Gaza borders responded by firing artillery shells, no injuries reported.
