New Delhi : The Election Commission Thursday ordered immediate transfer of three top police officers of Gujarat, where assembly polls will be held next month, and asked the state government to suggest names for replacement.
The commission’s spokesperson said Vadodara Police Commissioner P.C. Thakur, Ahmedabad’s Joint Police Commissioner P.K Jha and Anand District Superintendent of Police D.S. Bhatt were transferred following complaints of partial conduct.
He said the state’s chief secretary was instructed to suggest names of three officers to replace the outgoing ones by Friday.
The assembly elections in the state will be held Dec 11 and Dec 16.
