New Delhi : Gujarat’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) late Sunday cleared a list of the candidates for the first phase of the assembly election next month, with Chief Minister Narendra Modi seeking re-election from his Maninagar constituency in Ahmedabad.
The BJP central election committee here cleared the 74 names recommended by the state election committee. The list includes 20 new faces, a party spokesman here said.
The state goes to polls Dec 11 and Dec 16. The main opposition Congress is yet to come out with its list of candidates.
