Highlights of fifth India-Pakistan ODI

New Delhi : Following are the statistical highlights of the fifth and final One-Day International in which Pakistan beat India in Jaipur Sunday:

– Pakistan registered their second win in three matches against India at Jaipur.

– Pakistan have won three out of four played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur – all three in successive games – by 143 runs against India on March 24, 1999; by four wickets vs. Sri Lanka on Oct 17, 2006 and by 31 runs vs. India on Nov 18, 2007.

– Pakistan (306/6) registered the highest ever total at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, bettering India’s 303 for four against Sri Lanka on Oct 31, 2005.

– Pakistan’s previous highest at this venue was 278 for 9 against India on March 24, 1999.

– The previous highest against India at this venue was Sri Lanka’s 298 for 4 on Oct 31, 2005.

– India (275) recorded their highest total against Pakistan at this venue, eclipsing their 169 for 6 on Oct 2, 1983.

– Sreesanth (3/52) produced his second best performance against Pakistan, next only to his 4 for 58 at Karachi on Feb 19, 2006.

– Sachin Tendulkar (30) became the first batsman to aggregate 300 runs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium – 318 at an average of 63.60 in six innings.

– Sachin has aggregated 1,425 (avg 47.50), including one century and 13 fifties in 32 innings in 2007. Only Matthew Hayden (Australia) has aggregated more runs than him this year – 1,555 (ave.62.20) in 28 innings.

– Yuvraj is third in the list this year with 1,287 runs at an average of 45.96 in 33 innings, including one century and 9 fifties.

– Shoaib Malik (89) registered his highest score in India, eclipsing his 75 at Jamshedpur on April 9, 2005. This was his 24th fifty in ODIs.

– Malik’s 89 off 82 balls is his highest score as captain, bettering his 79 not out against Sri Lanka at Abu Dhabi on May 22, 2007.

– Mohammad Yousuf’s 74 off 82 balls is his 60th fifty.

– Yousuf, with 283 runs at an average of 94.33, including three fifties, is the leading run-getter for Pakistan in the series.

– The 168-run stand between Yousuf and Malik for the fourth wicket is a record for this wicket position at this venue, eclipsing the 164 (unbroken) between Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli for India against England in 1992-93.

– That stand is not only Pakistan’s best ever partnership for any wicket in India but also the best ever fourth wicket stand against India, bettering the 163 (unbroken) between Ijaz Ahmed and Inzamam-ul-Haq in the 1998-99 Pepsi Cup at Mohali.

– Rohit Sharma (52 off 61 balls) posted his maiden fifty in ODIs.

– Yuvraj Singh, with 272 runs (avg 68.00) is the leading run-getter for India in the Indian Oil Cup.

– Yuvraj’s 50 is his 34th in ODIs – his 9th against Pakistan.

– Sohail Tanvir (4/53) produced his career-best figures, eclipsing his 2 for 26 at Kanpur on Nov 11, 2007.

– Murali Kartik (16) registered his highest against Pakistan, taking his ODI career average to 14.00.

– Irfan Pathan (44) registered his third best score against Pakistan – his top two scores being 65 at Peshawar on Feb 6, 2006 and 64 at Jamshedpur on April 9, 2005.

– The 37-run partnership between Pathan and Sreesanth is India’s best partnership for the 10th wicket against Pakistan in India and the second best against Pakistan overall after 40 between Javagal Srinath and Venkatesh Prasad at Toronto in 1998.

– Malik got his 13th Man of the Match award – his fourth against India.

– Yuvraj has been adjudged the Player of the series for the fourth time in ODIs.
