New Delhi : India has offered to assist Bangladesh “in whatever way” to deal with the relief process after Cyclone Sidr caused havoc in that country, killing over 1,700 people.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has written a letter to Bangladesh chief adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed, expressing great sadness at the loss of life and damage to property and offered condolences.
“In his message, the Prime Minister also said that India stands ready to assist in whatever way we can to help in the relief process,” An External Affairs Ministry spokesperson said here Saturday.
Cyclone Sidr killed at least 1,723 in Bangladesh.
