Dubai : United Arab Emirates supports negotiations between Iran and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said a UAE foreign ministry official Sunday evening.
According to UAE Deputy Foreign Minister Tarigh Al-Heidan in his meeting with Iranian Ambassador to this Persian Gulf state, Iran has chosen a right course in its interactions with the UN atomic agency and other international bodies.
He said the the Persian Gulf littoral states are eager to have constructive and broad cooperation with Iran, adding that strengthening cooperation among regional states is the only way to boost stability in the region.
He referred to Iran as a powerful neighbouring state with which all Persian Gulf states are willing to expand relations.
Iran’s Ambassador Hamid-Reza Asefi told the UAE official that the recent report of the IAEA chief disproved the US claims and confirmed the peaceful nature of Iranian nuclear activities.
The Ambassador said Iran will continue talks with the agency and pursue its rights. Asefi remarked that during past ten years the atomic agency and its chief have announced at least ten times that there is no deviation in Iran’s nuclear plans.
He also said Iran is determined to expand relations with the regional states especially the United Arab Emirates.
Duirng the meeting they talked about bilateral affairs and Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities.
