Arab-European forum to improve cooperation

Dubai : A group called Young Arab Leaders has announced it will host a “Arab-European Dialogue Forum” to discuss ways to enhance communication and cooperation in economic and social sectors, WAM news agency reported Tuesday.

The forum — to be held in Berlin Nov 23-24 — will bring together prominent figures from the private and government sectors throughout the Middle East and Europe.

As many as 100 delegates from the private and government sectors and civil organisations from more than 20 Arab and European countries will participate in the conference.

The Berlin forum will feature discussions in business and innovation sectors, science and technology, as well as social responsibility. There will be a debate on methods and mechanisms to drive Arab-European relations on multiple levels.

Speakers will include Saeed Al Muntafiq, chairman of Young Arab Leaders and chief executive officer of Tatweer; Michael Gloss, German minister of economics and technology, and Dieter Zetsche, chairman of Daimler AG.

Elias Bou Saab, vice-president of the American University in Dubai and chairman of the forum organising committee, said: “The Arab-European Dialogue Forum is an extension of the strategy of the Young Arab Leaders, which aims to promote dialogue between young people in the Arab region and the rest of the world, including the US, Asia and South America.”
