Initially, the plant would be manufacturing a range of toothpastes for African markets. Its production capacity would later be expanded to produce a wide variety of skin care, home care and household disinfectant products.

“Building a manufacturing facility in Nigeria was an important strategic decision for Dabur and African Consumer Care Ltd. Nigeria is one of the world’s most rapidly growing markets for fast moving consumer goods products, and a manufacturing presence here gives us a competitive edge that we intend to utilise in full,” Sunil Duggal, CEO, Dabur India Ltd, said in a statement.

Dabur started its operations in Nigeria in 2004 with the setting up of African Consumer Care Ltd – a joint venture between Dabur International Ltd, which holds 90 percent stake in the venture, and Dabur UK.
