Ramallah : Israeli authorisation for the construction of a new road in eastern Jerusalem will create obstacles for Palestinians with intentions to hinder their travelling and movements, the Haaretz daily said.
The new road will separate the pathways between Israelis and Palestinians, an Israeli source told Haaretz Monday, adding that the road would be an initial step to construct a new Jewish neighbourhood in the area between Jerusalem and the West Bank.
The new project would rupture any kind of communication or transportation between the northern and southern parts of the West Bank, the source said, revealing that similar roads would be constructed in Jericho and other areas near Jerusalem.
According to the source, Palestinians will have no access into roads designed for Israelis.
