Tremors shake Delhi, rattle people

New Delhi : A moderate earthquake shook the national capital and surrounding areas at 4.43 a.m. Monday morning, making people jump out of their beds, but there were no immediate reports of casualties or damages.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said the tremor recorded 4.3 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the quake was the Delhi-Haryana border, the IMD said.

The quake rattled doors and windows, making many run out of their homes on a cold winter night. But there were no aftershocks.
