New York : There was no need to get alarmed by opinions expressed by coalition partners, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi told a gathering of NRIs here in what appeared to be a reference to the Left’s opposition to the Indo-US nuclear deal.
“It is important to listen to all points of view, which only strengthens the democratic process and helps us arrive at a consensus,” she stated.
Gandhi is here to address the UN General Assembly on the occasion of International Non Violence Day. Her son and Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi is also accompanying her.
