Prisoners clash in Orissa jail, two hurt

Bargarh (Orissa) : Two groups of prisoners clashed inside a jail in Orissa’s Bargarh district Tuesday, leaving at least two inmates injured.

According to jail authorities at the sub jail at Bargarh town, 350 km from state capital Bhubaneswar, the clash occurred over some personal matter Tuesday afternoon.

While one group was led by Rajesh Sahu, a murder accused, the other was led by Padman Bagh, accused in a robbery case.

Rajesh Sahu and one of his supporters sustained injuries in the clash, police official Umasankar Moharana told IANS.

Police have rushed to the spot and are probing the incident.

The jail has more than 100 prisoners, both under trial and convicts, though it was built to house 56 prisoners.
