Patna : 1, Anne Marg Patna witnessed a grand iftar party organised by CM Nitish Kumar. It was attended by approx 5,000 people. This iftar party was very peculiar one, unlike other political iftar party it was lacking of many veteran political leaders.
The whole compound was deeply crowded with people enjoying the delicacies.The menu was very rich. Apart from the conventional items to open fast, it included chicken, mutton, bread and pulao. The sweet dish “maqooti” generally served in marriage parties was also served on the occasion.
R S Gavai, Governer of Bihar and leaders of various political parties except Lalu, Rabri and Ram Vilas Paswan were among prominent people who took part in this iftar party. The CM himself was welcoming the guests and ensuring that they had their share of iftar. He said that railway minister had told him earlier that he might not come due to his engagement elsewhere. The scene was that of a marriage or any other big occasion, but definitely not an iftar party. Rain made the taste bitter making the ground muddy despite being covered. The ground where arrangement for namaaz had been made could not be utilised and the faithful had to move to other side for prayers. All the top police and civil officials were present on the occasion.
