Riad : A Palestinian state reduced to the West Bank makes no sense, warned ex-prime minister of the National Authority Ahmed Qurea in public declarations to the Saudi newspaper Al Watan on Saturday.

Qurea said that the structure should also include Jerusalem and Gaza Strip besides being established above the Western Bank.

Qurea, who is also the chief of the negotiating team with Israel added that “unity of this homeland is geographic, political, demographic and cultural so it is inadmissible to reduce it.”

According to Al Watan, the official emphasized the possibility of a peaceful agreement between the two parts but conditioned it to be a fair talk.

Both parts have expressed themselves for concrete progress in the process; however, Qurea noted that they are working for the approval of a text over which definitive exchanges will need to take place.

Palestine has historically demanded from Tel Aviv a series of steps to take toward peace, including Israel’s withdrawal and the return of refugees.
