Indigo starts daily Delhi-Agartala flights

Agartala : Budget airline Indigo has launched new daily flights from Delhi to Agartala via Kolkata, officials said here Monday.

“At Indigo, we are steadily building our route network. After launching operations in August 2006, Indigo has now carried over 2.5 million passengers in over 19,000 flights and this number is increasing everyday,” Bruce Ashby, president and CEO of Indigo, told journalists here.

Indigo has recently taken delivery of 13 new Airbus A320 aircraft. The airline now operates 94 daily flights to 15 destinations, including Agartala, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Vadodara.

The private airline plans to operate in 30 Indian cities by 2010 with a fleet of 40 aircrafts.
