Bangalore : H.D. Kumaraswamy Monday evening resigned as Karnataka chief minister. He submitted his resignation to Governor Rameshwar Thakur.
Kumaraswamy lost majority when coalition partner Bharatiya Janata Party Sunday pulled out of the 20-month-old alliance after he refused to vacate his post and hand over power to the BJP as agreed to between the two parties in February 2006.
