The youth, identified as Rajiv Kumar Shukla, was killed when the bus plying on route 33 between Bhajanpura and Noida’s Sector 37 hit his motorbike from behind near the Atta police post in Sector 18.

Additional Superintendent of Police J. Ravindran said the driver and conductor of the bus fled the scene after the accident. An agitated mob tried to torch the killer bus but was prevented from doing so by the police, he added.

Shukla was a resident of Lakshmi Nagar, east Delhi.

The privately-owned Blueline fleet has claimed as many as 95 lives so far this year.

On Sunday, a recklessly driven Blueline bus ran over seven people, including a four-year-old boy, in the worst such incident blamed on the fleet.

On Monday, the Delhi High Court asked the state government to submit a plan to phase the Blueline buses out of the roads as soon as possible.
