Agartala, (IANS) Seven people were injured, five of them critically, in a powerful explosion at a crowded marketplace in Tripura, officials said Monday.
A police spokesman said separatists Sunday night used a remote controlled device to trigger the bomb at the sub-divisional town of Gandachara, 195 km north of here.
“The blast went off when people were busy shopping for the upcoming Durga puja,” a police official said.
The injured were shifted to a local hospital. No rebel group has so far claimed responsibility for the explosion.
