Full court hearing plea on Musharraf rejected

Islamabad : Pakistan Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry Wednesday turned down a recommendation by an 11-member bench of the constitution for a full court hearing on petitions challenging candidacy of President Pervez Musharraf in the presidential election held Oct 6, the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.

Chaudhry decided that the bench would resume the hearing on the petitions Thursday, according to the APP report.

The bench had earlier sent its recommendation to Chaudhry after a brief session during which Hamid Khan, counsel for retired judge Wajihuddin Ahmed, who was a presidential candidate, requested for constituting the full court bench.
